The study explores the yearnings of fisherfolks on their child’s education, hindrances, and factors that shape desire as parents. Field observations key informant interview among elder members fisherfolk communities surrounding Albay, Ragay, Asid Gulfs Bicol Region was utilized. revealed majority parents do not want children to continue fishing main source livelihood because potential risks, hardships, cultural like collectivism, close family ties, dependence elders. parents’ aspirations were shaped by persistence over various threats, fears, personal unfulfilled dreams, career opportunities thru education. Most desired a college education safe secure profession for children. deduced these challenges can be contributory factor declining number gulfs.
